The tools that make the difference.

We only carry equipment we actually use. If it's in our shop, it's earned its place.

Comandante C40 Hand Grinder

The hand grinder we recommend to everyone who asks. The C40's MK4 nitro blade cuts cleanly across all grind sizes — from Turkish fine to French press coarse — without the heat and static of cheaper burrs. It's slower than an electric grinder, but the ritual is part of the point, and the results are hard to argue with. This is the grinder that travels with us.

Baratza Encore ESP

The right electric grinder for most home setups. Forty macro-steps of grind adjustment, designed specifically for espresso but capable across brew methods. The ceramic burrs produce a consistent grind at a price that doesn't require a separate explanation to a partner or roommate. Plug it in, dial it in, leave it on the counter.

Acaia Pearl Scale

Coffee ratios matter more than most people expect, and this scale makes getting them right effortless. The Pearl connects to the Acaia app for flow-rate tracking during espresso pulls, but it works perfectly well as a standalone 2g-resolution scale for pour-over and batch brew. Waterproof. Fast. Worth it.

Hario V60 Starter Set

Everything you need to start brewing pour-over at home. The V60 dripper (size 02, ceramic), a box of 100 filters, and a straightforward guide on how to use them. The V60 rewards attention — to water temperature, to pour rate, to bloom time — and it pays you back with some of the cleanest, most expressive cups you'll find outside a cafe bar. A good place to start.
